C-17 fleet reaches two-million-hour landmark

SOURCE FLIGHTGLOBAL
In December, a US Air Force airdrop mission just south of the Afghan capital Kabul pushed the worldwide fleet of Boeing C-17 Globemasters past the two million flying hours milestone, Boeing confirms.
There are 226 C-17s in service around the globe. Factors such as the troop surge in Afghanistan and humanitarian missions following a series of natural disasters have accelerated the accumulation of flight hours, with the two-million-hour mark reached less than five years after the type hit one million hours.
