Pilatus receives follow-on PC-21 trainer order from Swiss Air Force

BY ADMIN
Pilatus Aircraft will deliver two more PC-21 turboprop trainers to the Swiss Air Force under a deal signed on 17 December worth 30 million Swiss franks (US$31.2 million).
The follow-on order will increase the Swiss Air Force's PC-21 fleet to eight aircraft after the latest two are delivered in the first half of 2012, Pilatus says.
The PC-21 jet pilot training system (JEPAS) also includes logistics and engineering services, and a debriefing system.
Also sold to the United Arab Emirates air force the PC-21 training system "is creating a stir," says Oscar Schwenk, chief executive and chairman of the board of directors of Pilatus.

The Swiss Air Force is acquiring the PC-21s to serve as a lead-in trainer for the Boeing F/A-18 Hornet. The air force also operates a variant of the Pilatus PC-7 as a basic trainer.
